Learning Objectives
After completing this experiment, you should be able to
- explain the meaning of significant figures.
- estimate error propagation resulting from basic mathematical operations.
- generate a 2D graphical representation for a numerical data set.
- calculate and give meaning to the slope and $y$-intercept of a linear graph.
Experiment 0 is actually reading material (taken from the PHYS 204 Lab Manual) to help you review significant figures and measurement uncertainty and to demonstrate the importance of graphical analysis. In other words, no lab report is required.
